Description
New build residential flats, steel frame concrete floor slabs and timber frame construction with 18mm timber roof deck. The project comprised three residential blocks with a combination of warm flat roofs and cold ventilated pitched roofs.
All scaffolding and hoisting facilities were provided by the main contractor.
The warm roof construction was a typical construction flat roof insulated design.
The cold pitched roofs were originally designed as a zinc roof. This design was changed to mechanically fixed single ply with a décor profile to give the appearance of standing seam zinc.
A custom ridge capping and custom eaves vents were installed to ensure good ventilation to the underside of the roof deck
Sarnafil membranes were used throughout. The quality of finished required on this highly visible roof was on
Roof specification
Warm roof construction of Sarnafil single ply roofing system comprising vapour check, insulation and single ply membrane in lead grey finish. The cold roof construction of Sarnafil single ply roofing system comprising separation/isolation layer laid straight onto timber deck and the single ply membrane mechanically fixed and finally décor profiles heat welded to membrane. At 900mm centres. There was also warm roof construction to the stair heads. The completed roof system inspected by Sarnafil and guarantee provided accordingly.
Features
This building was of a high specification. The design required the appearance of expensive zinc roofing with a more modest cost. Lenaghen Roofing’s workforce achieved this at every stage on this project providing a high quality and sound finish to all the roofs.
